Resumo: We carried out the review of the planktonic algae studies reported for the Fúquene Lake from 1987 to 2007. A total of 167 taxa was recompiled. The classes with the largest number of species were Chlorophyceae and Euglenophyceae with 31% and 25% respectively of organisms reported. The genera Trachelomonas Ehrenberg emend Defl andre, Staurastrum Meyen ex Ralfs, Scenedesmus Meyen, Phacus Dujardin, and Lepocinclis Perty presented the highest species richness. Most of the taxa are typical from aquatic systems of the Andean Province. Differences in species number, as well as their proportion by classes reported in the three decades were observed, and possibly were associated with the changes in the trophic state in the system.
