“I STAY AT HOME LOCKED, ALONE”: : SURVIVAL MODES TENSIONING THE CONCEPT OF FAMILY NEGLIGENCE

Resumo: This article stresses the concept of family negligence based on the reports of five-year-old children during a survey carried out in a municipal school for Early Childhood Education, in a city in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre/RS. The main objective of the investigation sought to understand how children perceived and interpreted gender violence experienced within the family and/or its surroundings. Based on the theories proposed by the Sociology of Childhood, strategies were used to promote this debate with children, through conversation circles and literary readings. The results pointed to what we call survival modes as a strategy that unassisted families find themselves impelled to create to establish the safety of children in the home environment.

El objetivo principal de la investigación buscó comprender cómo los niños perciben e interpretan la violencia de género vivida dentro de la familia y / o su entorno. A partir de las teorías propuestas por la Sociología de la Infancia, se utilizaron estrategias para promover este debate con los niños, a través de círculos de conversación y lecturas literarias. Los resultados apuntaron a lo que llamamos modos de supervivencia como una estrategia que las familias sin ayuda se ven obligadas a crear para establecer la seguridad de los niños en el entorno del hogar.O presente artigo tensiona o conceito de negligência familiar, a partir de relatos de crianças de cinco anos de idade, durante uma pesquisa realizada em uma escola da rede municipal de Educação Infantil, em uma cidade da Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre/RS. O objetivo central da investigação buscou compreender como as crianças percebiam e interpretavam as violências de gênero vividas no âmbito familiar e/ou no seu entorno. A partir das teorizações propostas pela Sociologia da Infância, foram utilizadas estratégias para promover esse debate com as crianças, através das rodas de conversa e leituras literárias.
