O texto propõe uma leitura do livro O desejo de Kianda (1995), do ficcionista angolano Pepetela, focalizando os acontecimentos que ficaram conhecidos como a “síndrome de Luanda”, discussão centrada na ação política de pessoas públicas empenhadas no próprio enriquecimento, ignorando a população necessitada. Paralelamente, destaca a figura da Kianda, ser mítico do imaginário do povo luandense, inserida na narrativa para alertar sobre a perda dos valores éticos dos tempos de lutas libertárias, como também para a divulgação e preservação das raízes identitárias angolanas, outrora ameaçadas de apagamento pelo processo de colonização.Palavras-chave: Pós-colonialismo. Tradição.ABSTRACTThe text proposes a Reading of the book O desejo de Kianda (1995), from the Angolan fiction writer Pepetela, focusing the events that has been known as the “Luanda syndrome”, a discussion centered on the political action of public people committed in their own enrichment, ignoring the needy population. At the same time, highlights the figure of Kianda, a mythical being from the Luanda´s people imaginary, inserted in the narrative to alert about the ethical values loss in the libertarian fights times, as well as to disclose and preserve the Angolan identity roots, which were once threatened with the extinction by the colonization process.Keywords: Post-colonialism.
