In this article we try to determine the sense and the extent of interpretation in Nietzsche’s work in the light of the identificaion of the institution of interpretation with the expression of our impulses. We aim, on one hand, at clarifying the notions of sign, symptom, type and value, and, on the other, at distinguishing between the Nietzschean analyses and linguistic or logic perspectives. We also present the genealogy as an investigative/evaluative procedure which gives interpretation an original dimension in the sense that it establishes the sign as well as the meaning. Finally, we declare that, in Nietzsche, it is settled an infinitely instituting thought, since the impulses appear as verb, as subject and as signification.
