Resumo: This article aims to analyze and outline the profile of deaths resulting from eclampsia in the years 2017 to 2021 in Brazil, where the biggest cause of maternal mortality is hypertensive disorders. A retrospective and descriptive study was carried out through the Information Technology Department of the Unified Health System (DATASUS) and the TabNet platform. The Mortality section was chosen and then the option Deaths of women of childbearing age and maternal deaths. The selected content was Maternal deaths. Category ICD-10 015 (Eclampsia) was chosen for the period from 2017 to 2021. The total number of deaths registered due to eclampsia in Brazil in the period from 2017 to 2021 was 751. The year with the highest absolute number was 2019 ( 160). The last year (2021: 135) had a 12.9% reduction compared to the initial year (2017: 155). The study reiterates the significant significance of eclampsia as a cause of maternal death in Brazil, with emphasis on the Northeast and Southeast regions and the prevalent involvement of patients with incomplete education and of mixed race.

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-11-01info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/75210.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p2021-2029Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 2021-2029Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 2021-2029Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 2021-20292674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/752/903Copyright (c) 2023 Estevão Pires da Silva Filho, Juliana Fidelis Martins, Rebeca da Cruz Prestes , Felipe da Cruz Bezerra, José Ricardo Baracho dos Santos Júnior , Nelma Silva Sousa , Fernando Souza Sampaio, Allefy Beltrão Albanohttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSilva Filho, Estevão Pires daFidelis Martins, JulianaCruz Prestes , Rebeca daCruz Bezerra, Felipe daSantos Júnior , José Ricardo Baracho dosSilva Sousa , NelmaSouza Sampaio, FernandoBeltrão Albano, Allefy2023-11-01T12:26:13Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/752Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-11-01T12:26:13Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
