The article addresses the complex relationship between childbirth complications and placenta accreta, a challenging condition during pregnancy. The placenta plays a vital role in pregnancy, connecting mother and fetus, but complications such as placenta accreta, where the placenta abnormally adheres to the uterine wall, pose significant risks. The study highlights risk factors, diagnostic methods, and prevention strategies for this condition. The research adopted an exploratory and qualitative approach, reviewing specialized literature for relevant information on the topic. Articles in Portuguese, Spanish, and English were analyzed, spanning the period from 2000 to 2023. The study emphasizes the importance of adequate prenatal monitoring to early identify complications related to placenta previa and placenta accreta. The research contributes to a better understanding of the condition and guides future research in the obstetric field.
