Resumo: INTRODUCTION: Endodontic sealers are materials that play a vital role in the longevity of an endodontic treatment, promoting a hermetic seal and antimicrobial effect. To this end, one physical characteristic that stands out is the material's flow capacity, which allows it to seal the root canal well. The aim of this study was to identify the flow rate of two endodontic sealers. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A zinc oxide-eugenol sealer based and a bioceramic sealer were used in this study. They were handled according to their manufacturers' instructions and encapsulated in 2 mL plastic tubes and placed in a temperature-controlled water bath with the aid of an electronic thermometer at 37ºC and 67ºC. Using an insulin syringe, 0.5mL samples were applied to a glass plate and another 150g glass plate was placed on top. At intervals of 10 minutes and 30 minutes, the largest and smallest diameters were measured using a digital caliper. If the difference between the diameters was greater than 1mm, the sample was discarded. RESULTS: Both cements had a higher flow rate at a temperature of 67ºC and within 30 minutes, but the bioceramic sealer had a higher flow rate at both temperatures and time periods measured, compared to the second endodontic sealer (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Both cements had higher flow rates when subjected to higher temperatures, which is a factor to be considered in their effective use.

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-12-16info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/102610.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p5619-5628Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 5619-5628Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 5619-5628Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 5619-56282674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/1026/1247Copyright (c) 2023 Matheus Debastiani, Mariá Cortina Bellan, Marília Paulus, Lucas Bozzeti Pigozzi, Luíza Bonezi Boff, Alexandre Condehttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDebastiani, Matheus Cortina Bellan, MariáPaulus, MaríliaBozzeti Pigozzi, LucasBonezi Boff, LuízaConde, Alexandre2023-12-16T20:23:42Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/1026Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-12-16T20:23:42Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
