Resumo: | Introduction: Fibromyalgia is an autoimmune or inflammation-based disease, but research suggests that the nervous system is involved. It is characterized by generalized pain and tenderness (sensitivity to touch). It is a pathology that, if not treated appropriately, can end up compromising the individual's daily mobility. Therefore, it is important that these individuals seek professional treatment, so that their quality of life is not affected as much. Therefore, physiotherapy is important for the treatment of fibromyalgia as it works to reduce the main symptoms that this disease causes, such as joint pain. Physiotherapy also plays a role in the body's functional abilities, being important for the acute phase of fibromyalgia. Objective: The present study aims to relate physiotherapeutic techniques to achieving relevant results in the treatment of fibromyalgia. Methodology: The approach used in this study is bibliographic, where studies and secondary sources will be used to provide the necessary theoretical basis for the research. Presenting information and data collected from previously developed research. Results: The expected results of this research aim to achieve the objectives established in this project, with the aim of clarifying the context of physiotherapy's role in the treatment of fibromyalgia. Final considerations: The study showed that the role of a physiotherapy professional in the treatment of fibromyalgia is essential. It is suggested that the importance of the methods used in future studies be addressed more specifically. |

Metodologia: A abordagem utilizada neste estudo é a bibliográfica, onde será usado estudos e fontes secundárias para dar o embasamento teórico necessário a pesquisa. Specialized Dentistry Group2023-11-17info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/89710.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p3227-3238Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3227-3238Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3227-3238Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3227-32382674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/897/1007Copyright (c) 2023 Tayanny Pinto Gomes , Rosileide Alves Livramento https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessGomes , Tayanny PintoLivramento , Rosileide Alves2023-11-17T22:02:55Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/897Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-11-17T22:02:55Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false |
