Resumo: Steroids, or anabolic androgenic steroids, are hormones usually derived from testosterone that promote the multiplication of muscle cells and bones through cell growth and subsequent Division. The effects of anabolic steroids are not restricted to muscle gain and fat loss, but also include addiction and psychiatry disorders such as depression, anxiety, aggression, insomnia and even suicide. Through the analysis of published scientific articles on the topic, we seek to establish this relationship between the use of anabolic steroids and the effects on users’ psychopathology. The search was carried out with predefined keywords, finding studies indexed on SciELO, PubMed, MEDLINE and Scopus, from 2010 to 2022. Through the analysis of the articles, it was demonstrated that the use of anabolic substances is closely related to the emergence and worsening of psychopathological problems.

Through the analysis of the articles, it was demonstrated that the use of anabolic substances is closely related to the emergence and worsening of psychopathological problems. Specialized Dentistry Group2023-09-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/59610.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n4p2826-2835Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 2826-2835Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 2826-2835Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 2826-28352674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/596/719Copyright (c) 2023 Lucas Barbosa Leite Prado, Ana Luiza Romão Schiassi, Anna Lucinda Truyts Lima Vaz Guimarães, Eduarda Pinto Storinohttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessPrado, Lucas Barbosa LeiteRomão Schiassi, Ana LuizaGuimarães, Anna Lucinda Truyts Lima VazPinto Storino, Eduarda2023-09-30T20:41:50Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/596Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-09-30T20:41:50Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
