VARIATION OF THE RIGHT TESTICULAR VEIN IN AN ADULT CORPSE: CASE REPORT

When it comes to the circulatory system, we find a large number of variations that are frequently observed and documented in the literature, among these variations are those of the testicular veins. The testicular vein presents great variability in terms of number, route and drainage sites, and some of these variations can lead to male sterility. The purpose of our study is to describe a variation found in the right testicular vein in a formalinized adult cadaver. During a routine dissection in the Anatomy Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine of FAP-Araripina, located in the State of Pernambuco, we found a variation in the right testicular vein in a male corpse aged approximately 45 years. This was single and near its end it bifurcated into an upper and lower branch. From the bifurcation to the inferior vena cava, the upper branch was 96mm long and the lower branch was 74mm long. The distance between the two at the point of drainage into the vena cava was 24mm and the distance from the point of entry of the superior branch into the inferior vena cava into the renal vein was 14mm. Given the above, anatomical variations are very important in medical practice, especially when it comes to the vascular system.
