Introduction: The neonatal ICU is a specialized unit that offers intensive and specific care for premature or sick newborns, providing vital support, constant monitoring and specialized medical treatment for vulnerable babies. Requires a joint task force for increased monitoring of sick or premature children. Methodology:Study approached in the form of a systematic literature review, with a time limit between 2005 and 2023, search carried out in November on the following health platforms: SciELO and MEDLINE. The identification of relevant articles used health descriptors such as "Neonatal Intensive Care Units", "Neonates", "Multidisciplinary Health Team" and "Premature Newborn". Results: In the neonatal ICU, synergy between professionals is essential to offer comprehensive care to newborns. Conclusion: The importance of multidisciplinary care in the neonatal ICU lies in the integrated approach of different specialties, promoting more complete, personalized and effective treatments for premature or sick babies, aiming for superior clinical results and healthy development.
