Resumo: | People with cleft lip and palate (CLP) require care from birth to adulthood, involving a series of highly complex procedures. The aim of this study was to investigate the perception of Dentists regarding clinical approaches in the treatment of patients with cleft lip and palate. For data collection, a questionnaire with 7 questions was used and made available through the Google Forms® platform. After reading and accepting the informed consent form, participants completed the survey (n=60). The obtained data were tabulated and analyzed descriptively in terms of absolute frequencies and percentages. The results provided valuable insights into the profile of the professionals involved in the study. The majority of participating dentists (71.7%) have some specialization, and 51.7% of them graduated within the last 5 years. Regarding the treatment of patients with special needs, 65% of dentists have had experience with such cases. A significant portion of the respondents (63.3%) has not had the opportunity to treat patients with cleft lip and palate, although 60% are willing to do so, and 65% have no objections to this type of treatment. However, 40% of dentists would refer patients with cleft lip and palate to another specialist or center, and 35% expressed fear or apprehension when treating patients with this condition. Only 53,3% of the professionals received information on the topic during their undergraduate studies. Professional training and curriculum revision are essential steps to ensure inclusive and quality care for patients with cleft lip and palate. |

Only 53,3% of the professionals received information on the topic during their undergraduate studies. Professional training and curriculum revision are essential steps to ensure inclusive and quality care for patients with cleft lip and palate. Specialized Dentistry Group2023-11-19info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/87410.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p3336-3346Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3336-3346Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3336-3346Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3336-33462674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/874/1016Copyright (c) 2023 Júlia Silveira Machado Boff, Joana Caroline D’Agostini, Rúbia da Rocha Vieira, Alexandre Conde, Lucas Bozzetti Pigozzi, Marília Paulus, Mariá Cortina Bellanhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSilveira Machado Boff, JúliaCaroline D’Agostini, Joanada Rocha Vieira, RúbiaConde, Alexandre Bozzetti Pigozzi, LucasPaulus, MaríliaCortina Bellan, Mariá2023-11-19T14:29:14Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/874Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-11-19T14:29:14Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false |
