Resumo: The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, has had a significant impact on global health since its emergence in late 2019. With the rapid spread of the virus, understanding the epidemiology and transmission of the disease is essential for pandemic control. The objective of this abstract is to conduct an integrative review of available information on the epidemiology and transmission of COVID-19. The methodology used for this abstract is based on an integrative review of scientific literature and epidemiological reports. Searches were performed in academic databases such as PubMed and Google Scholar using keywords such as "COVID-19," "SARS-CoV-2," "epidemiology," "transmission," "risk factors," and "control measures." Selected studies were assessed for their relevance and methodological quality. In summary, the epidemiology and transmission of COVID-19 are complex and continually evolving topics. Understanding these aspects is crucial for the development of effective pandemic control strategies and the protection of public health. It is essential for health authorities to continue monitoring and updating guidelines as new information and evidence emerge.

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-11-05info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/81610.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p2269-2277Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 2269-2277Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 2269-2277Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 2269-22772674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/816/932Copyright (c) 2023 João Vitor Ribeiro Costa, Isabela Munhoz Ferreira, João Vitor Lourenço Ramos, Leonardo Moraes e Silva Beraldi, Julio Leopoldo Alcalay Neto, Cinthia Aurelina Bezerra Barbosa, Leandra Alvarenga Lisbôahttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessCosta, João Vitor RibeiroFerreira, Isabela MunhozRamos, João Vitor LourençoBeraldi, Leonardo Moraes e Silva Neto, Julio Leopoldo AlcalayBarbosa, Cinthia Aurelina Bezerra Lisbôa, Leandra AlvarengaGrimaldi , Enzo2023-11-06T21:10:10Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/816Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-11-06T21:10:10Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
