Resumo: People looking for service in emergency services always aim to obtain care with priority or speed, however, it is known that this is not always possible to happen. For the nurse used a risk classification system called Manchester Protocol, with the intuition of seeking more fairly, the priority of patient care, consequently improving the flow in care units. OBJECTIVE: To demonstrate scientific evidence about the nurses' contribution to the risk classification in emergency and emergency services. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review, whose method allows the search, synthesis and evaluation of available information on a investigated theme, summarizing the past of the literature, to provide a broader analysis of a particular theme. RESULTS: Based on the results, three categories emerged: 1) Importance of Manchester Protocol and Classifier Nurse; 2) The knowledge of nurses in relation to the Manchester protocol and 3) difficulties encountered in the risk classification in relation to the Manchester protocol. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: Regarding the Nurse's performance at the SUE CR, his active participation in patient care, decision making, monitoring of patients treated, registering information inherent in care, management, in management, was identified education and resolution of patients' or/or referral problems to appropriate services.
