Resumo: Introduction: The search for the ideal body has been a concern for society for years, especially for women. The disposition of body fat is influenced by hormonal and hereditary factors, personal characteristics in general, eating habits and sedentary lifestyle. Its accumulation is caused by large food intake and low caloric expenditure, characterizing one of the biggest complaints today: localized fat, mainly in the abdominal region. There are several techniques aimed at treating this condition, among which electrolipolysis stands out, which aims to reduce abdominal lipodystrophy through low-intensity electrical stimuli, promoting the lysis of the fat cell membrane and subsequent elimination of this content. intracellular. Materials and Methods: Experimental and longitudinal multiple case study, with quantitative analysis. The sample consisted of 19 adult women aged between 18 and 59 years (mean: 29.9; SD: 4.2), with abdominal fat, where four electrolipolysis applications were performed at a frequency of 30Hz, at a pulse width of 250 microseconds for 40 minutes. The volunteers remained fasting for 4 hours before carrying out the first session of the technique and answered a brief questionnaire and, after, blood was collected to evaluate the lipid profile and measure body measurements, weight and height to calculate BMI (index body mass), in addition to abdominal circumference and skinfold measurement. Results: Student's t test was used to compare groups. A difference was observed in the evaluation of patients, before and after the electrolipolysis sessions, with regard to cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL (high-density lipoprotein) and LDL (low-density lipoprotein) levels, as well as a decrease in measurements of the participants' body contour. In all cases, the results were considered statistically significant when p<0.05. Conclusion: The application of the electrolipolysis technique according to the adopted methodological design showed positive results for the analyzed parameters.

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-09-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/60610.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n4p2836-2848Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 2836-2848Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 2836-2848Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 2836-28482674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/606/720Copyright (c) 2023 Aline Begnini, João Alberto Fioravante Tassinary , Giovana Sinigaglia , Magali Quevedo Grave , Andrea Horst , Gabriela Kniphoff da Silva Lawisch , Fernanda Trindade , Simone Stulp https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessBegnini, AlineTassinary , João Alberto FioravanteSinigaglia , GiovanaGrave , Magali QuevedoHorst , AndreaLawisch , Gabriela Kniphoff da SilvaTrindade , FernandaStulp , Simone2023-09-30T21:39:16Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/606Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-09-30T21:39:16Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
