Resumo: Pregnancy changes a woman's physiology, placing her at greater risk in relation to Covid-19, with more serious developments, creating a greater need for adequate, effective and safe vaccination against Covid-19. However, the vaccines currently accepted for pregnant women are specific as category B. In the meantime, the objectives of the present study are to elucidate which vaccines against Covid-19 are safe for pregnant women, their adverse effects and the vaccination program. The currently safe vaccines for gestational administration are Pfizer and CoronaVac. Through studies carried out on animals, the vaccines did not show teratogenic effects, in addition to not demonstrating adverse effects. Pain at the injection site was the most frequently reported adverse effect. Vaccinations should preferably be carried out before the third trimester. Vaccination should be avoided during flu-like illness and should not be administered concomitantly with another vaccine. Vaccination of pregnant women must be subject to an individualized assessment, shared between the pregnant woman and her doctor.

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-10-31info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/72910.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p1994-2006Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1994-2006Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1994-2006Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1994-20062674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/729/900Copyright (c) 2023 Káryta Lorrane Xavier Oliveira, Allan Caldas de Souza, Ana Flávia Ribeiro Vilela, Filipe de Oliveira Alcântara Paniago, Gloria Bernardi Torres, Juliana Serafim dos Reis , Karoline Nogueira Borges, Larissa Victorien de Souza Viana Belchior, Mabio Vigilato Vital, Monique Stéphany Vitor Souza , Natália Paulino Vilela Macielhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessXavier Oliveira, Káryta LorraneSouza, Allan Caldas deVilela, Ana Flávia RibeiroPaniago, Filipe de Oliveira AlcântaraTorres, Gloria BernardiReis , Juliana Serafim dosBorges, Karoline NogueiraBelchior, Larissa Victorien de Souza VianaVital, Mabio VigilatoSouza , Monique Stéphany VitorMaciel, Natália Paulino Vilela2023-10-31T13:02:48Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/729Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-10-31T13:02:48Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
