Resumo: | INTRODUCTION: Dengue is characterized as an acute febrile infectious disease. The Dengue virus belongs to the flavivirus family; The disease is transmitted by Aedes aegypti mosquitoes and is classified as an arbovirus. Epidemiological surveillance in Brazil showed increased rates of reported Dengue hospitalizations and deaths. OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study is to demonstrate data related to dengue, in Brazil and its regions, during the years 2019-2023. METHODS: This is an ecological study, carried out based on data collection by the SUS Hospital Information System (SIH/SUS), made available by the secondary database of the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (TABNET/DATASUS) . The data referred to hospitalizations for Dengue in Brazil in the period between January 2019 and December 2023. From them, descriptive statistical analyzes were carried out based on the following sociodemographic variables: regions, race and sex. RESULTS: The results showed that the regions where hospitalizations predominate are: the Southeast and Northeast Regions; there is a higher prevalence of hospitalizations among females and mixed race people, and according to the data obtained, the race with the lowest hospitalization rate is indigenous. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: Based on the data analyzed, the Southeast region presented the highest number of Dengue cases in the period defined by the study, followed by the Northeast region. The lowest numbers were presented by the North region. Therefore, complementary studies are relevant, given the need for improvements in initiatives for vector control strategies, early diagnosis and the development of vaccines and antiviral drugs for the disease. |

La vigilancia epidemiológica en Brasil mostró mayores tasas de hospitalizaciones y muertes por dengue notificadas. OBJETIVO: El objetivo de este estudio es demostrar datos relacionados al dengue, en Brasil y sus regiones, durante los años 2019-2023. MÉTODOS: Se trata de un estudio ecológico, realizado a partir de la recolección de datos del Sistema de Información Hospitalaria del SUS (SIH/SUS), puestos a disposición de la base de datos secundaria del Departamento de Informática del Sistema Único de Salud (TABNET/DATASUS). Los datos se referían a hospitalizaciones por Dengue en Brasil en el período comprendido entre enero de 2019 y diciembre de 2023. A partir de ellos, se realizaron análisis estadísticos descriptivos con base en las siguientes variables sociodemográficas: regiones, raza y sexo. RESULTADOS: Los resultados mostraron que las regiones donde predominan las hospitalizaciones son: Región Sudeste y Nordeste; existe una mayor prevalencia de hospitalizaciones entre el sexo femenino y mestizo, y según los datos obtenidos, la raza con menor tasa de hospitalización es la indígena. DISCUSIÓN Y CONCLUSIÓN: Con base en los datos analizados, la región Sudeste presentó el mayor número de casos de Dengue en el período definido por el estudio, seguida por la región Nordeste. Las cifras más bajas las presentó la región Norte. Por lo tanto, los estudios complementarios son relevantes, ante la necesidad de mejorar las iniciativas para las estrategias de control de vectores, el diagnóstico temprano y el desarrollo de vacunas y medicamentos antivirales para la enfermedad.INTRODUÇÃO: A Dengue caracteriza-se como uma doença infecciosa febril aguda. O vírus da Dengue pertence à família dos flavivírus; a doença é transmitida pelos mosquitos Aedes aegypti, sendo classificada como uma arbovirose. A vigilância epidemiológica no Brasil, apresentou taxas aumentadas de casos de internações por Dengue relatados e óbitos. OBJETIVO: O objetivo deste estudo é demonstrar dados relacionados à dengue, no Brasil e em suas regiões, durante os anos de 2019-2023. MÉTODOS: Trata-se de um estudo ecológico, efetuado a partir da coleta de dados pelo Sistema de Informações Hospitalares do SUS (SIH/SUS), disponibilizado pelo banco de dados secundários do Departamento de Informática do Sistema Único de Saúde (TABNET/DATASUS). Os dados foram referentes às internações por Dengue no Brasil no período entre janeiro de 2019 a dezembro de 2023. A partir deles, foram realizadas análises estatísticas descritivas a partir das seguintes variáveis sociodemográficas: regiões, raça e sexo. RESULTADOS: Os resultados mostraram que as regiões que predominam as internações são: a Região Sudeste e Nordeste; há maior prevalencia em internações no sexo feminino e pardos, e de acordo com os dados obtidos, a raça com menor indice de hospitalização é a indigena. DISCUSSÃO E CONCLUSÃO: A partir dos dados analisados, a região Sudeste apresentou o maior número de casos de Dengue no período delimitado pelo estudo, seguida pela região Nordeste. Os menores números foram apresentados pela região Norte.
