Resumo: This is an integrative literature review carried out by research, on December 12, 2023, in the electronic databases: LILACS, PubMed and SciELO, by the Descriptors in Health Science: “hip fractures”, “elderly”, " orthopedics” and “risk factors”, corresponding in English. Included were original articles with cross-sectional, longitudinal designs and randomized clinical trials, published between 2018 and 2022, in all languages, which dealt with the risk factors for hip fracture in the elderly. Review articles were not included, as well as those that did not deal with the topic. The search totaled 278 articles, evaluated by three reviewers, with 39 studies being excluded for being duplicates and 235 for not meeting the inclusion criteria, consequently , 4 articles made up this review The identification and understanding of risk factors for hip fractures in the elderly are extremely important for promoting bone health and preventing serious complications in this population. Natural aging, combined with conditions such as osteoporosis, physical inactivity and other factors, significantly increases the risk of hip fractures, making it essential to recognize these factors as a form of prevention. Furthermore, adopting appropriate preventive measures is essential in preserving the mobility, independence and quality of life of the elderly.

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-12-21info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/109210.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p6094-6103Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 6094-6103Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 6094-6103Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 6094-61032674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/1092/1285Copyright (c) 2023 Marcos Castro Mendes, João Paulo de Oliveira Alemães , Bernardo Malheiros Monteiro , Juan Uchida Ferrari Santos, Victor de Carvalho Teixeira Silva, Fernanda Casini de Souza, Renata Peruchi Carvalho, Rafael Coelho Franco , Fellipe Feijó Halfeld, Geraldo de Abreu Pacheco https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessCastro Mendes, Marcosde Oliveira Alemães , João PauloMalheiros Monteiro , BernardoUchida Ferrari Santos, Juande Carvalho Teixeira Silva, VictorCasini de Souza, FernandaPeruchi Carvalho, RenataCoelho Franco , RafaelFeijó Halfeld, Fellipede Abreu Pacheco , Geraldo2023-12-21T21:33:24Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/1092Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-12-21T21:33:24Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
