Introduction: Heart failure (HF) is a public health problem of the highest order, characterized by high mortality, frequent hospitalizations and deteriorating quality of life, with prevalence and incidence that are increasing worldwide. Vitamin D is an important micronutrient for the optimal function of many organs and tissues throughout the body, including the cardiovascular system.   Objective: The purpose of this article is to review the relationship between heart failure and vitamin D.   Methodology: A scan was performed on the Google Scholar and Scopus indexing bases. Articles on heart failure and vitamin D were selected and analyzed for quality and relevance.   Conclusion: It has been suggested that vitamin D deficiency may be an important factor in both the genesis of risk factors and cardiovascular diseases.
