PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC EVALUATION OF THE ELDERLY USING THE UNITED HEALTH SYSTEM – SUS.

Resumo: Population aging is a phenomenon that occurs on a global scale, especially in developedcountries. This process is characterized by the constant increase in life expectancy and thedecline in fertility. The social, psychic and emotional states contribute to the aging of thepopulation. Pharmacotherapeutic follow-up is the responsibility of the pharmacist, whoevaluates the dosage to reduce errors, providing a better quality of life for the patient.Inappropriate medications can cause negative outcomes, as one of the most importantrisk factors for adverse drug events in the elderly. The objective of this work was toevaluate the prescriptions of elderly patients assisted in the Unified Health System (SUS)in Santo Antônio do Jardim. from 65 years old. This research addressed 50 patientsresiding in the city of Santo Antônio do Jardim - SP. Of the 50 patients interviewed, 40(80%) had no reaction, but 10 (20%) had a reaction to the drug, referring to theirpharmacological treatment, totaling 65 interactions, 16 of which were severe interactionsand 49 were moderate interactions. It is concluded that the elderly who use the SUS, inparticular polypharmacy, self-medication, lack of knowledge about indications andpossible side effects, including complications resulting from drug interactions.

Esse processo caracteriza-se pelo constante aumento da expectativa de vida e a queda de fecundidade. Os estados social, psíquico e emocional contribuem para o envelhecimento da população. O acompanhamento farmacoterapêutico é de responsabilidade do farmacêutico, que avalia a posologia para reduzir os erros dando uma melhor qualidade de vida ao paciente. Os medicamentos inapropriados podem causar desfechos negativos, como um dos fatores de risco mais importantes para eventos adversos com medicamentos em idosos. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar as prescrições de pacientes idosos atendido no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) em Santo Antônio do Jardim seus dados foram obtidos por meio da análise das prescrições, foram verificadas as interações medicamentosas decorrentes dos erros das prescrições dispensadas aos idosos a partir de 65 anos. Esta pesquisa abordou 50 pacientes residentes na cidade de Santo Antônio do Jardim – SP. Dos 50 pacientes entrevistados, 40 (80%) não apresentaram nenhuma reação, porém 10 (20%) apresentaram reação ao medicamento, referente ao seu tratamento farmacológico totalizando 65 interações, sendo 16 interações graves e 49 interações moderadas.
