Resumo: Motor difficulties in newborns represent a significant concern in the area of neonatal health. These difficulties can result from a variety of causes, including complications during pregnancy, premature birth, neurological injuries, and genetic conditions. Early monitoring and intervention are essential to ensure adequate motor development and quality of life for these children. The objective of this integrative review is to analyze the evidence available in the literature on motor difficulties in newborns, investigating the causes, risk factors, diagnostic methods, interventions and impacts on child development. The methodology used for this integrative review consisted of a systematic search for scientific articles in relevant databases, such as PubMed, Scopus and Google Scholar. Studies published in the last 10 years, written in Portuguese, English or Spanish, were selected. Search terms used included “motor difficulties”, “newborns”, “causes”, “risk factors”, “diagnosis” and “interventions”. The analysis of the studies included the assessment of methodological quality and the synthesis of the main findings. Based on the integrative literature review, it was possible to identify that motor difficulties in newborns are a complex and multifactorial concern. Several risk factors, including complications during pregnancy and childbirth, can contribute to these difficulties. Early diagnosis and intervention are key to improving long-term outcomes.

Early diagnosis and intervention are key to improving long-term outcomes. Specialized Dentistry Group2023-10-06info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/64510.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p498-506Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 498-506Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 498-506Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 498-5062674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/645/771Copyright (c) 2023 Silvanna Raquel Marinheiro da Silva Stanescu, Jordão Lobo Fernandes, Karinny Guimarães Couto, Tatianne de Sousa Alves, Giovanna Maria Passarelo Pereirahttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessStanescu, Silvanna Raquel Marinheiro da SilvaFernandes, Jordão LoboCouto, Karinny GuimarãesAlves, Tatianne de SousaPereira, Giovanna Maria Passarelo2023-10-06T22:17:33Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/645Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-10-06T22:17:33Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
