Resumo: Introduction: Under the terms of the World Health Organization, in countries like Brazil, every person over 60 years old is considered elderly. The aging process is a continuous evolution that impacts all individuals, resulting in changes of a physiological, social, cultural, biological and psychological nature. Sarcopenia is characterized as an age-related decrease in skeletal muscle functionality and muscle mass, manifesting in approximately 6% to 22% of the elderly adult population. Objectives: Aims to understand the physiological changes in the aging process of the elderly with post-COVID-19 sarcopenia. Describing the main impacts of sarcopenia in the elderly after COVID-19, identifying the strategies for replacing vitamin D from a multiprofessional perspective and possible nursing diagnoses from the elderly with sarcopenia after COVID-19. Methodology: The descriptive research was carried out through a systematic bibliographical review based on secondary works that address the subject in question, published in the period from 2017 to 2023. Results and discussion: So that there is a greater understanding of the results, clarity in the discussion, correlation From the data obtained, and the topic was not tangential, two categories were developed with the guiding questions: Category 1: Main Impacts of sarcopenia in the elderly after COVID-19; Category 2: Strategies for replacing vitamin D from a multiprofessional perspective; Category 3: Possible nursing diagnoses arising from the elderly with post-COVID-19 sarcopenia. Conclusion: The physiological changes in the aging process of the elderly with post-COVID-19 sarcopenia present significant challenges. It is essential that the elderly, their families and health professionals work together to face these challenges and ensure healthy and active aging.

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-10-12info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/67510.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p900-924Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 900-924Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 900-924Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 900-9242674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/675/806Copyright (c) 2023 Miriam Maria Ferreira Guedes, Wanderson Alves Ribeiro , Karine Gomes de Moura de Oliveira , Michel Barros Fassarella , Elcio Gomes dos Reis , Felippe Gomes de Oliveira Neves , Bruna Porath Azevedo Fassarella , Keila do Carmo Neves https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessGuedes, Miriam Maria FerreiraRibeiro , Wanderson Alves Oliveira , Karine Gomes de Moura de Fassarella , Michel Barros Reis , Elcio Gomes dosNeves , Felippe Gomes de OliveiraFassarella , Bruna Porath AzevedoNeves , Keila do Carmo2023-10-12T19:40:28Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/675Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-10-12T19:40:28Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
