Resumo: Cervical cancer (CC) is the fourth most common neoplasm and the fourth leading cause of cancer death among women worldwide, being responsible for approximately 570,000 new cases and 311,000 deaths in 2018. The objective of this article is to identify recent and relevant information available in the literature on CC prevention and screening. This is an integrative review with articles dated between 2018 and 2013 in the Lilacs, Scielo and Google Scholar databases. Vaccination against (HPV) is an important public health strategy to prevent CC. The vaccine offers a powerful tool to substantially reduce the burden of CC worldwide. The fundamental principle of cancer screening is the detection of the disease at an early, curable stage in the asymptomatic and apparently healthy population. The goal of uterine cancer screening is to detect high-grade lesions in asymptomatic women, treat them, and prevent progression to invasive disease. Prevention and screening strategies are excellent ways to mitigate the incidence and mortality of women with CC worldwide. However, this care is less in socioeconomically unfavorable countries, black women and women who live in rural areas.

Specialized Dentistry Group2024-01-15info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/127210.36557/2674-8169.2024v6n1p1131-1138Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 No. 1 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1131-1138Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 Núm. 1 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1131-1138Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 6 n. 1 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1131-11382674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/1272/1465Copyright (c) 2024 Rodrigo da Silva Bezerra, Adriane Nunes Diniz, Lilian Josiane da Rosa Soares, Silvia Daniela Minossi , Laíza Cláudia Barbosa de Macêdo, Áthina Karla Vieira Nunes Beserra, Allana Maria Newton Arruda, Juliana Ester Ribeiro Carvalho, Thierry Duarte Ribeiro Sobral, Maria Kéren Ribeiro Sousa, Maria Alicia Moura Silva , Maranna Paula Ferreira de Lim, Andreza Ossani https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessBezerra, Rodrigo da SilvaDiniz, Adriane NunesSoares, Lilian Josiane da RosaMinossi , Silvia DanielaMacêdo, Laíza Cláudia Barbosa deBeserra, Áthina Karla Vieira NunesArruda, Allana Maria NewtonCarvalho, Juliana Ester Ribeiro Sobral, Thierry Duarte RibeiroSousa, Maria Kéren RibeiroSilva , Maria Alicia MouraLima, Maranna Paula Ferreira deOssani , Andreza2024-01-19T18:39:06Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/1272Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2024-01-19T18:39:06Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
