Resumo: Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is available and affordable for use in Endodontics. Given the availability of this technological innovation for its applicability in root canal treatment, the objective of this paper was to discuss the advantages of CBCT in resolving a case of failure of a maxillary first molar, in which the second canal of the mesiobuccal root was not located and consequently not treated in the first intervention. Essential steps for the success of endodontic therapy, from diagnosis to accurate planning for carrying out endodontic reintervention, demonstrated the efficiency of CBCT as a high-impact auxiliary resource for solving complex cases in Endodontics

Dada la disponibilidad de esta innovación tecnológica para su aplicabilidad en el tratamiento endodóntico, el objetivo de este trabajo fue discutir las ventajas del CBCT en la resolución de un caso de falla de un primer molar maxilar, en el cual no se localizó el segundo conducto de la raíz mesiovestibular. y en consecuencia no tratado en la primera intervención. Pasos esenciales para el éxito de la terapia endodóntica, desde el diagnóstico hasta la planificación precisa para la realización de la reintervención endodóntica, demostraron la eficiencia del CBCT como recurso auxiliar de alto impacto para la resolución de casos complejos en EndodonciaA tomografia Computadorizada Cone Beam (TCCB) está disponível e absolutamente acessível para ser utilizada na Endodontia. Diante da disponibilidade dessa inovação tecnológica para sua aplicabilidade no tratamento endodôntico, o objetivo desse trabalho foi discutir as vantagens da TCCB na resolução de um caso de insucesso de um primeiro molar superior, no qual o segundo canal da raiz mésio vestibular não foi localizado e consequentemente não tratado em primeira intervenção.
