OBJECTIVE: To emphasize the role of primary health care in the identification of child sexual abuse. METHOD: The present study consists of a review of the integrative literature, stipulated through 6 methodological steps that were followed in an orderly manner to carry out the study, namely: definition of the guiding question, sampling in the literature, data collection, critical analysis of the included studies, discussion of the results and presentation of the integrative review.  The filter used for the searches was with the descriptors; (Primary Health Care) AND (Child Sexual Abuse) AND (Health Care). RESULTS:The final sample consisted of 7 studies that resulted in the following category for discussion: Need for professional training in the care of abused children. CONCLUSION: It was possible to conclude that it is extremely important to develop training activities for professionals who are part of primary health care and who have direct contact with children and adolescents.
