This article aimed to verify whether traumatic events in childhood, such as sexual, physical abuse, neglect and abandonment, are factors related to Borderline Personality Disorder. The research was carried out using national and international bibliographic articles, through delimitations on the topic. The analysis of the articles obtained resulted in information based on the verification approach associated with events during childhood trauma experiences related to the development of Borderline Personality Disorder. Therefore, the importance of evaluating the context of trauma in childhood, for a better understanding of symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. And the factors relating to the development of BPD.
