Resumo: Introduction: in the intensive care unit (ICU) environment, critically ill patients, due to prolonged immobility, develop a series of complications such as reduced muscle strength and loss of functionality, which leads to longer hospitalization and mechanical ventilation. Therefore, physiotherapy through early mobilization is important to prevent and reduce the harmful effects of prolonged immobilization. Objective: to describe the effects of early mobilization on critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. Methodology: the work refers to a literature review, the following databases were used: Scielo, Pubmed, Medline and Scientific magazines. Results: with regard to the number of studies, they were quantified 450 articles on the topic. Searching the databases: Pubmed, Scielo, Medline and Scientific Journals. Subsequently, 200 articles were excluded and were also excluded according to the exclusion criteria chosen in the current work. Through search engines, 28 works were identified that met the inclusion criteria. Final considerations: it can be concluded that early mobilization has an important influence on the improvement of critically ill patients in the ICU, promoting greater gains in strength, mobility, quality of life and other benefits.

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-11-19info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/91110.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p3429-3450Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3429-3450Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3429-3450Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3429-34502674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/911/1024Copyright (c) 2023 Valéria Carvalho da Cruz Cruz, Rosileide Alves Livramento https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessCruz, Valéria Carvalho da CruzLivramento , Rosileide Alves2023-11-19T22:02:47Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/911Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-11-19T22:02:47Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
