Resumo: Tooth resorption is a change in structure due to a pathological process of damage or removal of the superficial cementoblastic layer and root dentin, caused by clastic cells, as part of osteo-remodeling units, demineralizing hard tissues by releasing acids and causing tissue breakdown by enzymatic action, occurring simultaneously in the same region. It can occur in any region of the tooth, as long as the clastic cells can reach the site. This study aimed to present, through a clinical case report, the invasive external dental resorption of the dental element 27, as well as the clinical treatment sequence for this case. It was concluded that technological resources, associated with the use of appropriate materials and techniques for the case, in addition to professional skill, were decisive for the success of the case, as shown by the radiographic control images.

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-08-03info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/38610.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n4p213-224Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 213-224Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 213-224Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 213-2242674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/386/467Copyright (c) 2023 Vanessa Rodrigues Nascimento, Luiz Fernando Tomazinho, Hugo José Bastos, Key Fabiano de Souza Pereira, Julia Irma da Silva Esglohttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessNascimento, Vanessa RodriguesTomazinho, Luiz FernandoBastos, Hugo JoséPereira, Key Fabiano de SouzaEsglo, Julia Irma da Silva2023-08-03T17:04:34Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/386Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-08-03T17:04:34Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
