Resumo: This article aims to conduct a review of the current medical literature on new treatment perspectives for patients with Alzheimer's Disease. The search engines Google Scholar, Scielo, PubMed, and Web of Science were used to select articles using the keywords "Alzheimer's Disease; dementia; β-amyloid protein; phosphorylated tau protein; neurodegeneration; treatment; new therapies." It is concluded that there are several ongoing important studies capable of altering the disease's progression. However, there are still limited tools for restoring the cognitive capacity of patients, and studies involving multiple therapies are rare.

However, there are still limited tools for restoring the cognitive capacity of patients, and studies involving multiple therapies are rare.Este artigo tem por objetivo realizar uma varredura da literatura médica vigente sobre as novas perspectivas de tratamento para os pacientes com Doença de Alzheimer.  Foram utilizados como motores de busca os indexadores Google Scholar, Scielo, Pubmed  e Web of Science para seleção dos artigos, através dos unitermos “doença de Alzheimer; demência; proteína β amilóide; proteína tau fosforilada; neurodegeneração; tratamento; novas terapêuticas. Conclui-se que há diversos estudos importantes em andamento capazes de modificar a evolução da doença.
