DENTAL BLEACHING AS A MODIFYING THERAPY FOR CASES OF SEVERE TOOTH DARKENING: REVIEW

Resumo: The aim of this literature review was to demonstrate the impact of dental bleaching on the life of patients with dystrophic pulp calcification and to show its ability to solve the main complaint reported by the patient. This study is based on a literature review conducted by a researcher who gathered 15 articles out of 30 researched, from the period between 2001 to 2021, in virtual libraries such as the Virtual Health Library, Scielo, Pubmed, Medline, and virtual libraries of Brazilian universities. With a high success rate, proven through the literature, bleaching techniques are the most effective in treating dental discolorations. However, endodontic treatment can be used in non-vital teeth with symptoms or apical lesions, with some restrictions. There are different treatment options such as external bleaching, internal bleaching, veneers, and direct or indirect coronal restorations, to restore the appropriate color in calcified teeth.

Este estudio se basa en una revisión de literatura realizada por un investigador que recopiló 15 artículos de un total de 30 investigados, en el período comprendido entre 2001 y 2021, en bibliotecas virtuales como la Biblioteca Virtual de Salud, Scielo, Pubmed, Medline y bibliotecas virtuales de universidades brasileñas. Con un alto índice de éxito, comprobado a través de la literatura, las técnicas de blanqueamiento son las más efectivas para tratar las decoloraciones dentales. Sin embargo, el tratamiento endodóntico puede ser utilizado en dientes no vitales con síntomas o lesiones apicales, con algunas restricciones. Existen diferentes opciones de tratamiento, como el blanqueamiento externo, blanqueamiento interno, carillas y restauraciones coronales directas o indirectas, para restaurar el color adecuado en los dientes calcificados.O objetivo dessa revisão de literatura foi mostrar o impacto do clareamento dental na vida do paciente com algum elemento dentário com calcificação pulpar distrófica e mostrar a sua capacidade de solucionar a queixa principal que o paciente relata. Este estudo se baseia numa revisão de literatura realizada por um pesquisador que fez a reunião de 15 artigos dentre 30 pesquisados, do período entre 2001 a 2021, em bibliotecas virtuais, como Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde, Scielo, Pubmed, Medline e bibliotecas virtuais de faculdades brasileiras. Com alto índice de sucesso, comprovado através da literatura, as técnicas de clareamento são as mais eficazes para tratar descolorações dentárias. No entanto, o tratamento endodôntico pode ser usado em dentes não vitais com sintomas ou lesões apicais, com restrições.
