Chemical, physical and microbiological characteristics of agroforestry systems at different successional stages in Brasília, Brazil

Resumo: | Agroforestry Systems (SAFs) are agricultural production systems that act close to the dynamics of nature. The objective of this research was to evaluate physical and microbiological properties of SAF's soils in three successional stages and in a control area (pasture), a requirement in Brasília, Distrito Federal. The history of the area was elaborated from information collected in an interview. Particles (pH, MO, C, N, C: N, P, K, Ca, Mg and Al), physical (granulometry) and microbiological (easily extractable glomalin) analyzes were performed. Data were visible from multivariate and univariate analysis. Plant agrobiodiversity was 19 species in the established SAF, 11 in the SAF in formation, 5 in the initial SAF and 2 in the pasture. The established and in-formation SAFs had the greatest progressive increase of C, MO, K and Ca. The greater the successional stage, the greater the degree of aggregation and the distribution of aggregates. The soils of all SAFs and pasture dissip the glomalin, being its highest concentration in the SAFs. It is concluded that the longer the management time, the greater will be the differences in the specific, physical and microbiological characteristics of the soil. The temporal evolution of systems favors greater availability of nutrients, increased biological activity and aggregation capacity, consequently increases an organic layer of the soil, retaining more carbon in the system, generating ecosystem services and contributing to the attenuation of harmful effects of agricultural processes in the soil and in the ecosystem. |

El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar las propiedades físicas y microbiológicas de los suelos de SAF en tres etapas sucesivas y en un área de control (pastizal), requisito en Brasilia, Distrito Federal. La historia del área se elaboró a partir de la información recopilada en una entrevista. Se realizaron análisis de partículas (pH, MO, C, N, C: N, P, K, Ca, Mg y Al), físicos (granulometría) y microbiológicos (glomalina fácilmente extraíble). Los datos fueron visibles a partir de análisis multivariados y univariados. La agrobiodiversidad vegetal fue de 19 especies en el SAF establecido, 11 en el SAF emergente, 5 en el SAF inicial y 2 en el pastizal. Los SAF establecidos e informados presentaron el mayor incremento progresivo de C, MO, K y Ca. A mayor etapa sucesional, mayor grado de agregación y distribución de agregados. Los suelos de todos los SAF y pastos disuelven la glomalina, siendo su mayor concentración en los SAF. Se concluye que cuanto mayor sea el tiempo de manejo, mayores serán las diferencias en las características específicas, físicas y microbiológicas del suelo. La evolución temporal de los sistemas favorece una mayor disponibilidad de nutrientes, mayor actividad biológica y capacidad de agregación, consecuentemente aumenta una capa orgánica del suelo, reteniendo más carbono en el sistema, generando servicios ecosistémicos y contribuyendo a la mitigación de efectos nocivos de los procesos agrícolas en suelo y en el ecosistema.Os Sistemas agroflorestais (SAFs) são sistemas de produção agrícola que atuem próximos a dinâmica da natureza. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar características químicas, físicas e microbiológicas de solos de SAF’s em três estágios sucessionais e em uma área controle (pastagem), localizadas em Brasília, Distrito Federal. O histórico da área foi elaborado a partir de informações coletadas em entrevista. Realizou-se análises químicas (pH, MO, C, N, C:N, P, K, Ca, Mg e Al), físicas (granulometria) e microbiológicas (glomalina facilmente extraível). Os dados foram analisados através de análise multivariadas e univariadas. A agrobiodiversidade vegetal foi de 19 espécies no SAF estabelecido, 11 no SAF em formação, 5 no SAF inicial e 2 na pastagem. Os SAFs estabelecido e em formação foram os que obtiveram o maior aumento progressivo de C, MO, K e Ca. Quanto maior o estágio sucessional, maior o grau de agregação e a distribuição dos agregados. Os solos de todos os SAFs e da pastagem apresentaram a glomalina, sendo sua maior concentração nos SAFs. Conclui-se que quanto maior o tempo de manejo, maiores serão as diferenças nas características químicas, físicas e microbiológicas do solo.
