Experience report of activities developed by an academic league in a biomedicine course

Resumo: Academic Leagues emerged in Brazilian universities in the early 20th century as extracurricular strategies. They began in medical courses, and then in nursing courses. As for the biomedicine course, no publications are found in scientific journals on academic leagues linked to that course. And among the areas of action of the biomedical, there is epidemiology and collective health. The objective of this work was to report the experience of Biomedicine academics in the activities carried out in the Academic League of Epidemiology and Collective Health (LAESC). This is a qualitative, descriptive study, of the experience report type on the foundation, consolidation and implementation of the activities developed by LAESC. The league's activities follow what was described in the work plan, with an annual schedule, which also seeks to follow the health color calendar. The league promoted activities on the academic tripod (teaching, research and extension), stimulating interdisciplinarity and intellectual production. Thus, the importance of the academic league in the complementary training of the Biomedicine course at the University of the State of Pará - UEPA is notorious.

Iniciaram-se, nos cursos de medicina, e depois, nos cursos enfermagem. E quanto ao curso de biomedicina, não são encontradas publicações, em periódicos científicos, sobre ligas acadêmicas vinculadas ao referido curso. E dentre as áreas de atuação do biomédico tem-se a epidemiologia e a saúde coletiva. O objetivo deste trabalho foi relatar a experiência de acadêmicos de Biomedicina das atividades desenvolvidas na Liga Acadêmica de Epidemiologia e Saúde Coletiva (LAESC). Trata-se de um estudo de caráter qualitativo, descritivo, do tipo relato de experiência sobre a fundação, consolidação e realização das atividades desenvolvidas da LAESC. As atividades da liga seguem o que foi descrito no plano de trabalho, com um cronograma anual, que busca, também, seguir o calendário de cores da saúde. A liga promoveu atividades no tripé acadêmico (ensino, pesquisa e extensão), estimulando a interdisciplinaridade e a produção intelectual.
