In Brazil, the reality of preventable diseases is diverse, as represented by stroke, atherosclerosis, systemic arterial hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and diabetes mellitus. In view of the negative influence that diseases have on people's quality of life, the study of health education influxes in the face of preventable diseases is justified. Thus, this investigation consists of an integrative review with a view to identifying the most recurrent modalities of health education intervention; the relevance of training networks between professionals, social agents and the population in general; and the outcomes of educational health actions in the prevention of preventable diseases and disorders.
