Resumo: Human activities have been able to significantly change nature in a fast and comprehensive way. Environmental Education emerges as a learning process, through which the individual constructs, collectively, their knowledge and purposes that should be prioritized, to raise awareness among the population, regarding the change of daily habits. It was emphasized, in this work, the need for an educational methodology that favors behavioral changes, considering the conservation of insect biodiversity in detriment to that caused by the mosquito Aedes aegipyti, which because of the risks offered to man raised the insects to a negative and harmful animal level. In view of this, the objective of this work was to awaken in students the importance of insects and demonstrate that measures to combat A. aegypti mosquito contribute to the health and well-being of people. The methodology was divided in three stages: initial evaluation of the students, lecture and practical class. The evaluation of learning was carried out by means of a semistructured questionnaire. The results showed that students initially confused insects with other animals such as spiders, scorpions, snakes, among others, and most attributed harmful and disgusting character to them. After the intervention it was possible to observe significant changes in the behavior and way of thinking of the students. When asked about A. aegypti, 100% of the students answered that "not leaving accumulated standing water" would be the best way to combat the mosquito. Therefore, once the intervention has been carried out, positive and encouraging results can be observed.
