Resumo: The covid-19 pandemic, is a respiratory disease transmitted through a somewhat unknown virus, which caused several impacts on daily life, especially the elderly population, which is considered a risk group, with preventive measures for transmission, for example, social distancing, resulting in loneliness and sadness, thus bringing depression and other impacts. According to the WHO, the elderly population is more vulnerable to this virus, especially those with chronic diseases. This study seeks to identify the greatest impacts caused by COVID-19 on the elderly in times of pandemic, its symptoms and forms of transmission and prevention. An integrative reading review was carried out. The libraries used for the search were: the Virtual Health Library (VHL), through the Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (Lilacs) database; the Scientific Electronic Library Online (ScIELO). Next, articles written in Portuguese, published between 2016 and 2021, available in full and free of charge, were selected. In view of this, the greatest consequences caused by COVID-19 to the elderly in times of pandemic are in mental health, well-being, and Thus, supportive measures are needed for the elderly population in times of pandemic.
