The work of social workers in health policy in coping with the Covid-19 pandemic

The study in question explores the work of the social worker in health policy during the confrontation of the Covid-19 pandemic, covering the period from 2020 to 2021. The main objective is to analyze the professional work of these professionals in a context marked by the intensification of the destructuring of health policy. The research aims to discuss the transformations in the world of work and their implications for the professional practice of social workers, highlighting the changes in health policy during the pandemic. In addition, it seeks to understand how the technical guidelines, prepared by the Federal Council of Social Service (CFESS) and the Regional Councils of Social Service (CRESS), about the competencies and attributions of social workers in the face of the pandemic of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), influenced and supported the professional practice. The methodology adopted employs a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive approach, using a bibliographic survey. Among the main authors considered are Bravo (1998), CFESS (1993; 2010), Antunes (2020) and Matos (2020). The research highlights the importance of the ethical, technical and political competencies of the CFESS/CRESS set as a fundamental support for the professional category in the face of atypical situations, such as the Covid-19 pandemic. The relevance of professional work in this health policy is also highlighted.
