To identify in the literature the benefits of the mother-staff and skin contact with the nursing team and as contributions of the first nursing team in the first time. Integrative literature review, performed according to the Prisma methodology – Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta Analysis. The search was carried out between June and July 2020 in the PUBMED, SCIELO, IBECS, MEDLINE, LILACS and BDENF databases. The birth of the skin and the first postpartum hour contact, the maternal and neonatal benefits are the benefits For the mother, to stimulate the postpartum milk letdown. For the newborn, thermoregulation, cardiopulmonary stabilization, increased risk of neonatal hypoglycemia, and physiological stability. A trained nursing team with these benefits is essential for the quality and satisfaction of postpartum care. Long-term and low-term first-hour skin contact are simple, long-term interventions that can have a significant impact on both short-term and maternal outcomes. The nursing team acts as a facilitator of this process, as it seeks to inform and raise awareness, together with the team, about the benefits of the actions.
