Resumo: ABSTRACT:  Non-communicable chronic diseases, such as Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and Systemic Arterial Hypertension (SAH), stand out as the main challenges faced by the elderly. These diseases are characterized by a combination of risk factors, long latency periods and can result in functional disabilities, and the regular practice of physical activity is essential in the prevention and treatment of these diseases. The objective was to evaluate the level of physical activity in elderly people with diabetes and hypertension enrolled in Basic Health Units in the city of Itumbiara-GO. The study consisted of 72 elderly people with a mean age of 70.81 years. For data collection, the socio-demographic questionnaire was used to analyze the epidemiological profile and the International Physical Activity Index (IPAQ) to assess the level of physical activity in different population contexts, including the elderly. Data were organized using descriptive statistics, associated and analyzed by hypothesis testing. It was observed that 83% of the subjects were not dependent on ADLs and knew their clinical condition. Of these, only 71.7% performed physical activity, but with low frequency and light intensity, regardless of gender. The findings highlight the importance of encouraging and raising awareness about physical activity for quality of life in the presence of metabolic and cardiac clinical conditions.
