Resumo: Cultural texts, such as soup operas, films and cartoons, through images and/ or words widespread transformers are considered as elements of values and beliefs, showing a strong influence on the representation of the people, in their role and in their place in society. Despite being important vehicles of culture, values and perspectives prevailing in a society, cultural texts constitute unexplored possibilities in research about professional stereotypes. Given this scenario, the goal of this research is to discuss how Librarianship professionals and their work environment are represented in cultural texts. The methodology was structured based on the analysis of cultural texts collected via the website YouTube and through the search engine Google, using content analysis. Cartoons, soap operas, television series, talk shows and books were collected and analyzed. The results of the analysis of the texts, images and dialogues address issues regarding the physical characteristics, behavioral skills, interpersonal relationships, and society's perception about librarians and library space.

Cartoons, soap operas, television series, talk shows and books were collected and analyzed. The results of the analysis of the texts, images and dialogues address issues regarding the physical characteristics, behavioral skills, interpersonal relationships, and society's perception about librarians and library space.
