Resumo: On March 6th, 2020, Bahia confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in the state. This article aims to describe the establishment of the hospital network of secondary and tertiary reference services for COVID-19 cases according to risk stratification, based on data obtained from the technical areas of the Department of Health of the State of Bahia (SESAB), information systems, and the State Contingency Plan for Confronting SARS-CoV-2. The hospital network proved to be sufficient to meet the demand arising from the new coronavirus infection, indicating that the state administration demonstrated the technical and administrative capacity to plan, organize, and guarantee sufficient supply of beds.

En este contexto, el objetivo de este artículo es describir el establecimiento de la red de hospitales de referencia secundaria y terciaria para casos del covid-19, según los niveles de riesgos, a partir del relevamiento de datos de las áreas técnicas de la Secretaría de Salud del Estado de Bahía (Sesab), de sistemas de información y del Plan Estadual de Contingencias para el Enfrentamiento del SARS-CoV-2. Se señaló que la red de hospitales resultó ser suficiente para satisfacer la demanda provocada por el nuevo coronavirus. Se concluye que la administración estadual logró demostrar capacidad técnica y administrativa para planificar, organizar y garantizar el suministro suficiente de camas.O primeiro caso de Covid-19 no estado da Bahia foi confirmado em 6 de março de 2020. Diante desse cenário, objetiva-se neste artigo descrever o estabelecimento da rede hospitalar de referência secundária e terciária para os casos de Covid-19, de acordo com a estratificação de risco, a partir do levantamento de dados obtidos nas áreas técnicas da Secretaria da Saúde do Estado da Bahia (Sesab), sistemas de informação e Plano Estadual de Contingência para Enfrentamento do SARS-CoV-2. Notou-se que a rede hospitalar se mostrou suficiente para o atendimento da demanda proveniente da infecção pelo novo coronavírus.
