Informação, ciência da informação: breves reflexões em três tempos

Algumas reflexões sobre o surgimento e conceituação da informação são apresentados. Qual o contexto básico, como diferencia-se e destaca-se de seu suporte físico e como relaciona-se com a biblioteconomia e documentação. Relata a evolução histórica da ciência da informação, seus processos, métodos e a interdisciplinaridade com outras áreas. Ressalta o impacto provocado pela computação e automação nos sistemas de recuperação da informação. Relaciona as dificuldades técnico-conceituais apontadas pela literatura que não impediram que a área se movimentasse na direção geral do fluxo da ciência, ensaiando conexões com caos e complexidade. No Brasil, a criação do mestrado em 1970 pelo IBBD e, posteriormente, a abertura do doutorado contribuíram para as discussões e debates sobre as questões e definições da área. [en] Some reflections on the surge and concept of information are presented. The basic context, how it differs and stands out from its physical support and how it relates to library science and documentation. Relates the historical evolution of information science, its processes, methods and interdisciplinarity with other fields. Highlights the impact made by computers and automation on information retrieval systems. Presents the technical and conceptual difficulties mentioned in the literature which, however, do not hinder the field from moving ahead in the general direction of the science assaying connections between chaos and complexity. In Brazil, the founding of the Master Degree program in 1970 by the then IBBD (Brazilian Institute of Bibliography and Documentation) and subsequently the Doctorate Program have contributed to discussions and debates on questions and definitions of the field.
