Resumo: | The purpose of this article is to analyze and discuss how Folha de São Paulo portrayed the image of Ronaldo in his participation by Corinthians in the Copa Libertadores 2010 and 2011, including the consolidation of the sports villain from the failure to fulfill his task. Methodologically, we propose a research based on the presuppositions of the history of the present time, considered an unfinished story, where the researcher lives the time of his own object. We selected news related to the 2010 and 2011 editions of the Copa Libertadores, in which Ronaldo was the central theme of the discussions about the expectations and the failures in the competition. The moment indicated the athlete as the protagonist who failed to meet what the media, the fans and the sports field expected. |

Metodológicamente, proponemos, pues, una investigación basada en los presupuestos de la historia del tiempo presente, considerada una historia inacabada, donde el investigador vive el tiempo de su propio objeto. Seleccionamos noticias relacionadas con las ediciones de 2010 y 2011 de la Copa Libertadores, en las que Ronaldo fue el tema central de las discusiones sobre expectativas y fracasos en la competencia. El momento señaló al deportista como protagonista que no cumplió con lo que esperaban los medios, la afición y el ámbito deportivo.L'obiettivo di questo articolo è analizzare e discutere come Folha de São Paulo ha interpretato l'immagine di Ronaldo nella sua partecipazione al Corinthians nella Copa Libertadores 2010 e 2011, comprendendo il consolidamento del cattivo sportivo dal mancato adempimento del suo compito. Metodologicamente si propone quindi una ricerca basata sui presupposti della storia del tempo presente, considerata una storia incompiuta, dove il ricercatore vive il tempo del proprio oggetto. Abbiamo selezionato le notizie relative alle edizioni 2010 e 2011 della Copa Libertadores, in cui Ronaldo è stato il tema centrale del dibattito su aspettative e fallimenti nella competizione. Il momento ha indicato l'atleta come il protagonista che non è riuscito a realizzare quanto si aspettavano i media, i tifosi e il campo sportivo.O objetivo deste artigo é analisar e discutir como a Folha de São Paulo retratou a imagem de Ronaldo em sua participação pelo Corinthians na Copa Libertadores de 2010 e 2011, compreendendo a consolidação do vilão esportivo a partir do fracasso no cumprimento de sua tarefa.
