Resumo: | Objective: To evaluate the plasma glucose and blood pressure of the servers of the Secretary of Finances of Mato Grosso and identify new cases of hypertension and DM. Materials and methods: 125 volunteers between 18 and 68 years participate of the study. We evaluated the Blood Pressure (BP) and capillary glucose level (CGL). The results were statistically treated by a calculation of absolute and relative frequency. It was also, the association between blood glucose and BP with the variables: gender and age by means of tests X2 (gender) and X2 for linear trend (age). Results: There was no statistically significant association between PA and changed gender and age. For Glycemia no significant difference between genders and higher levels of Glucose, but the differences are significant for age. When the age increases the evidence of blood glucose changes is higher. Discussion: The CGL showed higher values in line with increasing age which contradicts the findings of the proposed literature. Already the PA was not influenced by gender, which is confirmed by SBH. While age had no relationship with the increase in the PA, it can be explained by the high level of education, good purchasing power of participants and also for a drug treatment done correctly. We observed the importance of testing periodically the levels of blood glucose and the measurement of the PA for the prevention, treatment and discovery of new cases of hypertension and DM. |

We observed the importance of testing periodically the levels of blood glucose and the measurement of the PA for the prevention, treatment and discovery of new cases of hypertension and DM.
