Resumo: This paper discusses the brazilian agrarian structure that in its historic heritage has as essential characteristic the concentration of land in the hands of a small minority, setting the relations of production and work force in the agrarian economy of Brazil that is at the service of large landowners and has as fundamental features the inequality, the contradiction and the conflict within the different governments that managed (even minimally) the land issue. The land policy adopted in recent governments and the market land reform adopted by the neoliberal governments will also be discussed.

The land policy adopted in recent governments and the market land reform adopted by the neoliberal governments will also be discussed.Este artigo trata da estrutura fundiária brasileira, que em sua herança histórica tem como marca essencial a concentração de terras nas mãos de uma pequena minoria, configurando as relações de produção e trabalho vigentes na economia agrária do Brasil, que está a serviço dos grandes proprietários, e por isso possui como traços fundamentais a desigualdade, a contradição e o conflito dentro dos diferentes governos que gerenciou (mesmo que minimamente) a questão agrária.
