Current situation of Dengue, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever and Yellow Fever in the Americas

Resumo: Classical dengue (CD), dengue hemorrhagic fever / dengue shock syndrome (DFH/DSS), and yellow fever (YF) are the most serious vector-borne viral diseases in the Americas. CD and DHF/DSS are predominantly urban diseases which occur in many countries of Latin America and the Caribbean Basin. YF currebtly is exclusively a forest disease which affects several countries of tropical South America. This report summarizes the present situation of these diseases in the Americas.
