Resumo: The paper describes what is being done in Brasil in the field of nuclear instrumentation at the Brazilian Nuclear Energy Commission, at the university and in industry. It points out the main obstacles ancountered and analyses today’s situation with regard to the development of power reactor instrumentation in the country.
