Resumo: OBJECTIVE: To report a clinical experience in pediatric dentistry where a student had to deal with a case of child sexual abuse. METHODOLOGY: A 7-year-old girl who suffered sexual abuse was followed up, after collecting all possible evidence, a complaint was made to the Guardianship Council of the abuse suffered by the minor. RESULTS: After the complaint, the first on-site visit was carried out by the health agents and the guardianship council. CONCLUSION: It is concluded that most dental students do not have the necessary knowledge of the physical and psychological clinical evidence of a victim of sexual abuse to deal with such a case.
