Resumo: | Sporotrichosis is a subcutaneous mycosis, caused by the Sporothrix sp. The causal agent is monospecific and dimorphic, having distinct micro and macromorphological aspects, depending on the substrate and temperature, in the so-called room temperature (25oC) it is filamentous and at 37oC, it is yeast-like. Epidemiologically, the infection has a worldwide distribution, today evidenced mainly in the urban environment, being more evident in tropical and subtropical climatic conditions. Domestic cats are commonly associated with this disease due to the large amount of yeasts in their lesions, the instinct to scratch trees, bury waste and fight in disputes over territory. The most common clinical signs in this species are ulcerative lesions on the face, in the distal part of the limbs or the base of the tail, in addition to alopecia and crusts. In this species, severe clinical manifestations can occur, with systemic involvement. The diagnosis is made by collecting material from the affected areas for culture and isolation of the fungus, combined with presumptive and laboratory tests. As a form of treatment, inorganic iodides are used, especially Itraconazole orally, because it has less adverse effects in this species. |

BrasilCampus Manaus Zona LesteInstituto Federal do AmazonasIFAMMedicina VeterináriaInstituto Federal do AmazonasIFAMMedicina VeterináriaInstituto Federal do AmazonasIFAMMedicina VeterináriaSouza, Alexandre Navarro Alves deSouza, Alexandre Navarro Alves deSantos, Jomel Francisco dosNeves, Kilma Cristiane SilvaRocha, Vitória Elizabeth de Souza2023-05-09T00:43:29Z2023-05-082023-05-09T00:43:29Z2021-04-22info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesishttp://repositorio.ifam.edu.br/jspui/handle/4321/1217porinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Institucional do IFAM (Repositório Institucional do Instituto Federal do Amazonas)instname:Instituto Federal do Amazonas (IFAM)instacron:IFAM2023-08-10T19:35:02Zoai:localhost:4321/1217Repositório InstitucionalPUBhttp://repositorio.ifam.edu.br/oai/requestcgeb@ifam.edu.bropendoar:2023-08-10T19:35:02Repositório Institucional do IFAM (Repositório Institucional do Instituto Federal do Amazonas) - Instituto Federal do Amazonas (IFAM)false |
