Resumo: The government's concern with its energy matrix is clear when we compare the national energy matrix with the world. Numerous actions have been taken in recent years to expand the production of renewable energies. Brazil stands out in the wide use of electric energy from hydroelectric plants, but the country's energy demand has increased in the last years, and it is necessary to make the population aware of the rational use of available resources. This work aimed to sensitize the community about the conscious use of energy resources, through workshops with students from the public school of the municipalities of Alta Floresta -MT and Sorriso -MT. Providing, the ability to identify energy expenditures and rethink their consumption. The workshops were accompanied by questionnaires to verify previous knowledge about the subject addressed. Subsequently, the participants of the activities answered another questionnaire in order to verify what was learned and practiced.

Realizaram-se inúmeras ações nos últimos anos com a finalidade de expandir a produção de energias renováveis. O Brasil destaca-se no pela ampla utilização de energia elétrica proveniente de hidroelétricas, mas a demanda energética do país elevou-se nos últimos anos, sendo necessária conscientizar a população para um uso racional dos recursos disponíveis. Este trabalho visou sensibilizar a comunidade sobre o uso consciente dos recursos energéticos, através de oficinas com alunos da rede pública de ensino dos municípios de Alta Floresta – MT e de Sorriso – MT. Propiciando, a capacidade de identificar gastos energéticos e de repensar seu consumo. As oficinas foram acompanhadas de questionários para verificar conhecimentos prévios sobre o assunto abordado.
