Resumo: To the Brazilian indigenous people, myths and legends are important to keep their culture alive, where indigenous schools and cultural centres are important spaces to this sharing. In this paper, we report an experience of indigenous teachers continuing education to build animated videos to illustrate myths by using the Stop Motion technique. The main goal of this continuous education project was to provide autonomy to indigenous teachers regarding the use of technology altogether with respecting their cultural knowledge and the later propagation in classroom with their students. We adopted a methodological approach composed of five stages to create such animated videos: the choice of the myth or tale; creation of its screenplay; scenario and characters construction; production of each frame; and, lastly, edition of frames with Windows Movie Maker software. Three main contribution can be identified upon carrying out the present proposal: (i) a teaching planning that can be replicated by many other instructors in several contexts; (ii) the formation process of indigenous teachers per si, which integrates technology and cultural knowledge; and (iii) four videos about myths that can be (re)used to disseminate the values of Brazilian indigenous culture.
